Seikan Ferry will launch its new vessel, Hayabusa II, on the Aomori – Hakodate route on April 4. The first flight will be the 14th, departing Hakodate at 20:20, and the vessel will operate two round trips per day for the time being.
Since the ship was built by Hakodate Dock Co., Ltd. the interior design is inspired by Hakodate. The cabin configuration is basically the same as that of the Hayabusa, with carpeted 2nd class seats, reclining 2nd class chair seats, barrier-free chair seats, and private state rooms.
In April and May, “Seikan Ultra Discount” will be offered to commemorate the launch of the service. Discounts will be offered for several plans, including a fare of 10,000 yen for passenger cars under 5 meters in April and 12,000 yen in May. Reservations can be made online two months prior to the boarding date, and are limited to a certain number.
