APA Group announced that it has acquired a site (1-5 Sakae-cho, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture) for its second hotel development in front of Shizuoka Station. The hotel will be named “APA Hotel ” (tentative name), with 418 guest rooms, and is scheduled to open in March 2025.
The APA Hotel , which opened in 2019 and has 269 guest rooms, is currently operating in the Shizuoka Station area, but the hotel has also maintained stable occupancy in the Corona Disaster, and the company expects to capture further demand in the future, leading to this development.
The APA Hotel (Shizuoka Ekimae) (tentative name) will be a 13-story building with 418 guest rooms, located a five-minute walk from Shizuoka Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen and Tokaido Honsen lines. It will have a large public bath and open-air bath to meet not only business but also leisure and inbound demand.
APA Hotel currently operates in three areas in Shizuoka Prefecture: Shizuoka, Hamamatsu, and Fuji. In addition to APA Hotel Shizuoka Ekikita, APA Hotel Hamamatsu Ekiminami, which opened in 2013 with 177 rooms, and APA Hotel Fuji Chuo, which opened in 2014 with 163 rooms, are currently operating in Hamamatsu City and Fuji City, respectively.
