Ferris wheel, giant maze, hot springs, ……1 Which SA/PAs can be enjoyed for a day? The theme park trend is progressing.

No. 1 Kariya PA (up/down) This area has a Highway Oasis that can be used both from the expressway and from the public road. In addition to the gourmet specialties of the Tokai region, the park with its Ferris wheel, fountain, and merry-go-round, as well as hot spring facilities, has become a popular spot not only for tourists from far and wide, but also for locals. The “deluxe restrooms,” which have been the talk of the town since their opening, were renovated in April 2022 in an elegant ancient European style.

No. 2 Kawashima PA (off-road) The Oasis Park, marked by a large Ferris wheel, has an open space where you can play in the water, playground equipment such as slides and swings, and a giant maze, and you can also enjoy a BBQ with nothing in hand. Visitors can also enjoy Gifu’s local specialties and gourmet food, and a stroll through the Kisogawa Water Park, where seasonal flowers bloom, is a great way to refresh yourself during a drive.

No. 3 EXPASA Fujikawa (Ascent) From the famous Giant Ferris Wheel, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay. Fuji and Suruga Bay from the famous Giant Ferris Wheel. No. 5 Nasu Kogen SA (Ascent) This SA at Nasu Kogen is symbolized by a trolley bus. There is a promenade surrounded by trees, where visitors can take a stroll and enjoy forest bathing while gazing at the Nasu Mountain Range.

No. 6 Fujioka PA (Ascent) The adjoining “Roadside Station Raran Fujioka” has a mini amusement park “Mercure Plaza” with a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and coin-operated play equipment. In addition, the family can enjoy a variety of gourmet foods and stores, including a direct sales shop for agricultural products.

No. 7 EXPASA Taga (downhill) A large service area consisting of the Central Wing, North Wing and South Wing. It offers a wide variety of shopping and dining options, and is equipped with coin-operated showers and a laundromat. The large public baths and sauna in the attached highway hotel can be used on a one-day basis. Towel rentals and amenities are available, so you can use the facilities even if you don’t have anything to bring.

No. 8 Hanyu PA (up) Aka “Onihei Edokoro,” a reproduction of the streets of Edo in “Onihei Hankacho. The collaboration of sound and light expresses morning, noon, and night in a more realistic manner, with sword scars on pillars, etc. The streets and stores faithfully reproduce the world view. Visitors can also enjoy gourmet foods that appear in the novel.

No. 9 Kanadachi SA (up/down) This SA offers a wide variety of products centering on famous Saga sweets, and also has a dog run. Kanadate Park, which can be accessed on foot, is rich in nature. The “Xufuku Longevity Hall,” named after the legend of Xufuku, has a “medicinal plant garden” with approximately 300 kinds of medicinal herbs and trees, as well as a cosmos garden and playground equipment.
