The “Taiwan Festival TOKYO 2023” will be held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Ueno Onshi Park and Fountain Plaza (5-6 Ueno Park, Taito-ku, Tokyo) from June 15 to 18.
The event, organized by the Association for the Love of Taiwan, is a popular gathering of Taiwanese food, drink, and merchandise that began in 2014 and reached 250,000 visitors in 2019.
The theme of this 9th edition is nostalgic “Taiwan Retro”. Visitors can enjoy a Taiwanese-style “辦桌” beer garden and a Taiwanese fruit fair featuring lychee and other Taiwanese delicacies.
On the morning of June 18, a special event, “Let’s Eat Taiwan’s ‘Retro’ Breakfast! (limited to 100 servings). The menu includes a variety of retro delicacies such as “Handmade brown sugar bun burger with thinly sliced pork loin and green onion balls” and “Winter melon honey dumplings with sweet potato and taro.
In addition, there will be performances by Taiwanese singers nominated for the Taiwan Grammy “Golden Song Award,” the Kutian Folk Art Troupe, and a national treasure-class hand-painted movie sign painter.
The nearest station to the venue is a 5-minute walk from Ueno Station on the JR, Ginza and Hibiya Subway Lines, an 8-minute walk from Ueno-okachimachi Station on the Oedo Line, and a 3-minute walk from Keisei-Ueno Station on the Keisei Line. Hours are from 10:00 to 21:00 (until 19:00 on the last day).
