The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has selected the following 12 new projects for the International Science and Technology Cooperation Program for Global Issues (SATREPS) for FY2023, based on the results of the selection by the external expert committee conducted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED). The following 12 projects have been selected as the new projects for fiscal 2023 under the International Science and Technology Cooperation Program for Global Issues (SATREPS).
SATREPS is a program supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and implemented by JST, AMED, and JICA to promote science and technology cooperation and science and technology diplomacy with developing countries by linking Japan’s outstanding science and technology with ODA. This program aims to acquire new knowledge and technologies that will lead to solutions to global-scale issues such as the environment, carbon neutrality, bioresources, disaster prevention, and infectious diseases, and to create innovations, as well as to improve the independent research and development capacity of developing countries and to build a system of sustainable activities that will contribute to solving their problems. The goal of the program is to acquire new knowledge and technologies that will lead to solutions to global-scale issues such as disaster prevention and infection.
We will hold discussions with the partner country to implement the project, and upon agreement on the details, the project will be implemented.
