The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Loan Agreement (L/A) of up to 6.55 billion yen with the Royal Government of Bhutan for “Development Policy Loan for Economic Reconstruction and Resilience Enhancement” on May 30 in Thimphu.
This project aims to promote economic recovery and growth in Bhutan, whose economy has been severely affected by the spread of the new coronavirus, by providing financial assistance, thereby contributing to fiscal, social, and economic stability in the country. The funds will be used to strengthen the Bhutanese government’s measures in the financial and financial sectors that contribute to private sector-led economic growth, to promote measures for green growth focusing on renewable natural resources, and to promote measures for the development of an independent and sustainable country with a good balance between rural and urban areas.
