THE Doraemon Exhibition” to be held for the first time in Kyushu. Takashi Murakami, Mika Ninagawa and 28 other contemporary art groups gather in Huis Ten Bosch.

Huistenbosch (1-1 Huistenbosch-cho, Sasebo, Nagasaki) will hold “THE Doraemon Exhibition NAGASAKI 2023″ at the Huistenbosch Museum of Art from July 7 to October 1. In conjunction with this event, advance ticket sales will begin at 12:00 p.m. on June 13.

THE Doraemon Exhibition” has been touring throughout Japan since its Tokyo venue in 2017, and this will be its first visit to Kyushu. Twenty-eight artists active in Japan and abroad will express the world of Doraemon through contemporary art, using a variety of ideas and techniques. Visitors will be able to see a 3.6-meter high giant plush toy, a 12-meter wide work of art, and other Doraemon creations that can only be seen in this exhibition.

Participating artists are Makoto Aida, Kayo Ume, Motohiko Kotani, Ryota Kuwakubo, Tomoko Konoike, Einori Goto, Tomomi Kondo, Tomoyoshi Sakamoto, Masaharu Sato, Shishiyamazaki, Ai Shinohara, Shiriagari Kotobuki, Yuta Nakazato, Suitao Nakatsuka, Yoshitomo Nara, Yasuyuki Nishio, Mika Ninagawa, Miran Fukuda, Sebastian Masuda, Kumi Machida, Mr., Takashi Murakami, Yasushi Morimura, Nozomi Watanabe, Yasunori Morimura, Masashi Yamaguchi, Kohike Junko, Akira Yamaguchi, Eiki Yamaguchi + Kou Ito, Tatsunori Yamamoto, Rerenna (Reina Nakajima), and Ai Watanabe. Masashi + Junko Koike, Akira Yamaguchi, Hidenori Yamaguchi + Wataru Ito, Ryuki Yamamoto, Rerena (Reina Nakajima), Nozomi Watanabe (in alphabetical order, titles omitted).

Fees are 1,200 yen for adults, 1,000 yen for junior high and high school students, and 400 yen for elementary school students from 4 years old to elementary school students if you have one of Huis Ten Bosch’s various passports or annual passports. If you do not have a passport, the prices are 1,400 yen for adults, 1,200 yen for junior and senior high school students, and 500 yen for elementary school students from 4 years old.

Huis Ten Bosch will hold a summer-only event, “Summer Festival of Lights and Canals,” from July 7 to September 10. In addition to the “Spectacular Lantern Night Show” in which lanterns color the night sky above the water, a giant swimming pool will also make an appearance.
