Bloom Experience First, visitors can experience the green screen (green background) technology used in the “Harry Potter” movie series. This is an experience unique to Studio Tour Tokyo, where visitors can learn about the behind-the-scenes of movie production. In this “Bloom Experience,” you are photographed astride a broom against a green screen background. You will probably be given instructions on your pose and posture. After the filming, visitors will be able to watch a composite and edited image of the footage and “real movie footage. This high-definition digital image can be taken home as a souvenir. Note that green or yellow clothing will be lost in this kind of chroma-key compositing, so be sure to avoid wearing green T-shirts and the like.
Quidditch Experience Another experiential system is the Quidditch Experience. Here, visitors first watch a video guide by Kensho Ono, the voice of Harry Potter in the Japanese dubbed version. After that, we were divided into groups of about 10 and moved to our seats in the Quidditch Stand. With the cameras rolling, we cheered and sometimes booed as if we were “watching” the heated match between Slytherin and Gryffindor. At first, it can be a little embarrassing, but the interlocutors, who are excellent performers, do a good job of making the experience more exciting. It is important to be the audience member with all your heart. After that, you can watch the video on the monitor as if you were a member of the magical world. Incidentally, this Quidditch Experience is not available at Studio Tour London, but only in Tokyo. The footage can also be brought back as data.
