The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Loan Agreement (L/A) of up to 30 billion yen with the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh for “Development Policy Loan for Strengthening Fiscal Management” in Dhaka on June 27.
This project will provide fiscal assistance as a precautionary measure to Bangladesh, which has been affected by multiple international risks such as the Corona disaster, the Ukraine crisis, and associated transportation, food, and energy price hikes. By supporting the government’s fiscal management reforms aimed at increasing revenue and improving expenditure management, this project will contribute to the country’s sustainable economic growth by strengthening fiscal management capacity and economic recovery. Through this project, we will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goals 8 (both job satisfaction and economic growth), 10 (eliminating inequality among people and countries), 16 (peace and justice for all), and 17 (achieving the goals through partnership).
