AirAsia Philippines launched flights on the Narita International Airport – Cebu route.
Originally scheduled to begin daily service on July 1, the new date was changed to July 2 for operational reasons, with three flights per week between July 2 and August 3, and daily service from August 4 onward.
On the first day of service, the boarding gate was decorated with red and white balloons, the symbolic colors of AirAsia, to celebrate the new route connecting Japan and the Philippines. The first flight, operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, departed Narita International Airport at 20:00 on time, and commemorative gifts were distributed on board.
