The Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi main store will hold “Disney100 THE MARKET in Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi” from August 9 to 21. To commemorate Disney’s 100th anniversary, limited items will be on sale and a photo spot will be set up.
The lineup consists mainly of items featuring characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. The lineup also includes items that are sold exclusively at the Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi main store and items that are limited to Isetan Mitsukoshi.
Notable pre-sale items include an Oswald plush toy and a Royal Selangor figure made by Steiff. The plush toy measures 33 cm in length, and the Disney 100th Anniversary Limited Edition figure is available upon order. Delivery is 70 days after ordering. Woody, Winnie the Pooh, Elsa, and Tinker Bell are each limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide.
Mickey Mouse and Pluto boldly painted apparel and miscellaneous goods related items such as art cushions with painting designs will also be available. Apparel items will also be included in the lineup of Isetan Mitsukoshi exclusive items.
The pumpkin carriage objet d’art, made with more than 20 million yen in 18-karat gold, has more than 100 parts made of 18-karat gold. Only one piece is available and will be delivered to the customer after the exhibition.
In addition, there is a pure gold card with Mickey Mouse design. It comes in an acrylic frame and has a decorative element.
A photo spot where visitors can take pictures with Mickey Mouse objects assembled with LEGO bricks will also be available at the venue. In addition, a total of 20 hidden Mickey objects will appear in the museum during the exhibition period. The first 1,000 customers who spend 2,200 yen or more on merchandise will receive a limited edition “Isetan Mitsukoshi original daily sticker” designed for Disney’s 100th anniversary.
During the exhibition, there will also be a special exhibition related to the “Children’s Dreamland Fun Disneyland” held in 1957 on the rooftop of the main Mitsukoshi store in Nihonbashi. The exhibition, “Mitsukoshi 350th Anniversary Special Exhibit: ‘Children’s Dreamland Fun Disneyland’ held in 1957,” will include up-close views of photographs and historical documents from that time.
