Posted on 2023-08-252023-08-25 by Editor in Chief

Fukushima Kotsu and Aizu Bus will introduce fare payment by credit card touch payment, QR code payment, WAON, and nanaco in March 2024. In addition to the above, the Iizaka Line will also be able to accept payment using the electronic money function of transportation system IC cards.

As of 2023, cashless payment is not supported except for the “NORUCA” IC card ticket available at Fukushima Kotsu, but other payment methods will be introduced to improve convenience. In addition, Aizu Bus will issue the IC card “AIZU NORUCA”, which can be used mutually with “NORUCA”.

For QR code payment and e-money, passengers on local buses take a numbered ticket when boarding and pay at a terminal when getting off, while passengers on railroads purchase paper tickets from newly installed cashless ticket vending machines. The new cashless ticket vending machines will be installed in the railways.
