Sake Brewery Tourism Promotion Council, a booth for adults where you can taste the best sake. You can also deepen your knowledge of sake!

Posted on 2023-11-012023-11-01 by Editor in Chief

Tourism Expo Japan 2023 Osaka-Kansai, one of the world’s largest travel events, is being held at INTEX Osaka (Suminoe-ku, Osaka City) for four days from October 26 to 29.

The Japan Sake Brewery Tourism Promotion Council booth, together with the Sasaki Sake Brewery of Kyoto Prefecture, the Kuma Shochu Brewery Tourism Council of Kumamoto Prefecture, the Okinawa Sake Brewers Association, which promotes Awamori, and the Bizen Tourism Association of Okayama Prefecture, will introduce the appeal of “Japanese sake” which is not limited to sake alone. The exhibition introduces the appeal of “Japanese alcoholic beverages” that are not limited to Japanese sake.

Not only will visitors be able to sample carefully selected fine sake from all over Japan, such as “Shichida Junmai Ginjo” from Saga Prefecture and “Nanbu Bijin Special Junmai” from Iwate Prefecture, but they will also be able to enjoy the culture, nature, famous places and specialties of the land where the sake was born, as well as gourmet foods that go well with the sake, and other ways to enjoy sake x city walking.

This year, for the first time, the “Geographical Indications (GI)” were introduced on a panel. For example, just as only sparkling wine made in the Champagne region of France can be called “Champagne,” so too in Japan, efforts are underway to protect and pass on the origin and brand of alcoholic beverages.

The booth of the Japan Sake Brewery Tourism Promotion Council is a place where you can learn not only the basics of sake, which you may not know, but also deepen your knowledge of the slightly more maniacal alcoholic beverages. This year, Kotoko Yamada, the winner of the “2023 Miss SAKE” Grand Prix, and Yukie Morikawa, the runner-up, will greet visitors in beautiful kimonos and talk about local sake.
