Hayama Hotel Otowanomori (5596-1 Akiya, Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture) will reopen on November 10, after a large-scale renovation that began in March 2022 and lasted about 18 months. A preview was held prior to the reopening, allowing visitors to see the upgraded guest rooms, all of which have been upgraded to suites, at an early stage.

The Hayama Hotel Otowanomori is a 90-minute drive from Tokyo, a 15-minute cab ride from Zushi Station on the JR Yokosuka Line, and a 13-minute ride from Zushi and Hayama Stations on the Keihin Kyuko Zushi Line.

The hotel opened in 1987, and to the surprise of many, Michael Jackson visited! The second floor of the hotel used to be a wedding hall, but after a renovation in 2006, the number of guest rooms was increased to 20, and in 2018, a new spa, Blue Lagoon, was built. This was the first major renovation since the hotel opened.

When the new coronavirus was raging and people were hesitant to go out of the prefecture to play, many guests living in the Tokyo metropolitan area visited the hotel as a “stay-at-home inn” with only a few guest rooms. For such repeat guests, the renewal of the hotel will be interesting to hear “How has that Otowanomori changed? It will be interesting to see how the Otowanomori has changed.

According to general manager Kaori Kumasaka, who spoke at the preview, the main target is married couples in their 40s to 50s living in central Tokyo, and she said, “The specifications are sure to be chosen by customers who are looking for a more luxurious place to spend the rest of their lives.
