Kanazawa Tokyu Hotel (2-1-1, Korinbo, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture) has begun accepting reservations for an overnight stay plan that includes “Kabako Crab and Local Cuisine Course Enjoyed on Kutani Ware Plates. The stay is available from November 7 to December 30.
Koubako crab (koubako kani/seiko kani) is the name for the rare female snow crab, a winter delicacy filled with sweet meat, inner and outer eggs, and crab miso. In Ishikawa Prefecture, the crab fishing season opens on November 6, and this plan is available only during this season.
Dinner is served at Chohachi Kanazawa Katamachi, a five-minute walk from Kanazawa Tokyu Hotel. The 9-course menu includes “Kabako Crab” served on a traditional Kutani ware plate, “Kaga Jibu-ni,” a local Kanazawa dish, “Nigiri-zushi,” a nigiri sushi dish of fresh fish selected by the chef, including fresh bluefin tuna, “Kaga lotus root steamed in lotus root,” a local specialty, and today’s dessert. The menu also includes a wide selection of local sake, wine, shochu, and other alcoholic beverages.
Rates for the accommodation plan start at 18,000 yen per night with two meals (per person based on double occupancy), and reservations must be made at least five days in advance by phone (076-231-2411).
