Tenmuto, an Impress Group company, released “Maps, Route Maps, and @chizutodesign” on November 17. 96 pages, B5 size, priced at 1980 yen.
This is a collection of works published so far by “Maps, Designs, etc. @chizutodesign” (Hajime Kato), who publishes his works on SNS. The book is a collection of works that shows maps and route maps with unique ideas.
In Chapter 1, “Maps and Mapping,” we created a “Google Maps-like Map of the Edo Period and Kanto Region” based on the theme “If Google Maps existed in the Edo Period. The route search is also replaced by the Edo period, using names of old countries, etc., and includes icons of horses, flying boats, palanquins, and boats. Other works include “Electric Power System Map,” which shows the electric power systems throughout Japan, and “Last Train Map,” which shows the last trains in each area in a radial pattern.
Chapter 2, “Route Maps and Other Maps,” includes “Kanto Electric Power System Map,” which expresses power transmission lines in the style of a route map, and “Tectonic Line Route Map,” which uses tectonic lines, which are geological boundaries, as route maps. The author’s playful spirit comes out in the use of a certain railroad company-style logo for the structural lines and in the representation of structural lines in the style of railroad lines.
Chapter 3 introduces other works and the web map “Rekichizu” operated by the author.
