NEXCO Central Japan’s “MICHIRAJI” application has been expanded to provide early notification of heavy snow traffic congestion on expressways. It also shows the status of snow removal and expected reopening of traffic.

NEXCO Central Japan will expand the services of “MICHIRAJI,” an information provision application exclusively for smartphones, from November 28.

MICHIRAJI” provides traffic information in the direction of travel, the time required to reach major interchanges, and congestion conditions at SA/PAs in audio based on the location information of the smartphone. Download is free. It is available in Japanese, English, Chinese (simplified), and Korean.

Starting on January 28, the new service will simultaneously transmit information such as the distance and section of the traffic jam, snow removal status, and expected resumption of service to areas where traffic congestion has occurred due to heavy snowfall or other reasons. Until now, when a person was caught in a traffic jam, he or she had to check the information on an information board, but with the expanded service, traffic information can be obtained in real time even in areas where there are no facilities.

In addition, a service that alerts drivers approximately 2 km before the point where accidents have frequently occurred in the past will be added.
