The Paris Olympics also attracted attention! Visit the South Pacific paradise of Tahiti. Experience a spectacular 4DW adventure up the dynamic volcanic island!

Posted on 2023-12-08 by Editor in Chief

The Tahiti Visitors Bureau and Air Tahiti Nui conducted a press tour for four days and two nights. They boarded Air Tahiti Nui’s Japan route (Narita-Tahiti), which has resumed service after an absence of three years and seven months, and experienced natural activities and gourmet cuisine.

Not Just for Honeymoons! Tahiti is an island in French Polynesia in the South Pacific that is attracting increasing attention in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Tahiti consists of 118 islands of various sizes, including Tahiti Island, where the capital Papeete is located, Bora Bora Island, famous for its floating bungalows, and Moorea Island, which offers spectacular views of the mountains and ocean. In Japan, black butterfly pearl jewelry, a specialty of Tahiti, has become a standard souvenir and gift. The photos on social networking sites are filled with the feeling of a resort, which is the epitome of the extraordinary! Photos of the resort-like atmosphere spread through social networking services and other media, and now attracts not only honeymooners but also tourists from all over the world who spend their leisure time there. Furthermore, Tahiti, the birthplace of surfing, has been selected as the venue for the 2024 Summer Olympics to be held in Paris, attracting even more attention.

A direct flight to Tahiti takes about 11 hours. Since day and night are not reversed significantly, jet lag is surprisingly minimal. From there, domestic flights and high-speed boats can be used to reach the islands. There is a 19-hour time difference between Tahiti and Japan. For example, if you depart Narita at 20:00 on TN87, you will arrive in Tahiti at 11:50 on the same day. Since it is 6:50 a.m. in Japan at that time, day and night are not reversed significantly, and if you get a good night’s sleep on the plane, jet lag will be surprisingly minimal. You can enjoy sightseeing during the daytime as if you had woken up a little earlier than usual. However, as with this press tour, you can stay in Tahiti for only about 2 days (afternoon of arrival day + 1 day of the following day + morning of the return day) during the 4-day itinerary. According to Marania Teuru, an itinerary specialist for the Tahiti Visitors Bureau, if you want to enjoy Tahiti to the fullest, you will need at least one week, or 10 days if you can afford it, taking into account travel days and time differences.
