Iraq’s power infrastructure, including power plants and transmission and substation facilities, has been destroyed and deteriorated as a result of years of war and economic sanctions, causing significant impairment in all areas of power generation, transmission, and distribution, resulting in long and constant rolling blackouts throughout the country and other major obstacles to economic recovery and the restoration of social stability. This has become a major obstacle to economic recovery and the restoration of social stability.
In particular, the Al-Musayeb Thermal Power Plant, a large-scale power plant located in southern Baghdad, is one of the most important power generation facilities in the country. However, due to inadequate maintenance, both its output and operating rate have declined significantly, and a comprehensive rehabilitation of related facilities is urgently needed. This cooperation will contribute to the economic and social reconstruction of the country by rehabilitating the Al-Musayeb thermal power station to improve the efficiency and stability of the Iraqi power system.
