On November 30, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that it will begin widening and improving the 715-meter stretch between Nishikito 3-chome and Yokogawa 4-chome in Sumida Ward.
This project (Kinshicho I phase) will widen the width of Kinshicho Park, Olinas Kinshicho, and other streets from the current 22 m to 27 m. The project is located on the 715 m north side of Kinshicho Station in Radial Route 32 (Yotsume-dori, Metropolitan Road 465, extending 6.3 km from Shiohama 2-chome, Koto-ku to Kyoshima 1-chome, Sumida-ku). The roadway will have four lanes, with sidewalks and bicycle lanes on both sides.
The project will also include the elimination of utility poles and the planting of roadside trees.
The project cost is 7.7 billion yen and the project time is from FY2023 to FY2032.
