Hanshin Electric Railway will begin using platform doors on the No. 4 platform on December 16 as a measure to prevent accidents such as falls from the platform, in line with the progress of the Osaka-Umeda Station improvement work that has been underway since March 2015. Part of this improvement work is being funded by the Railway Station Barrier-Free Fare System.
The station improvement work is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2024.
