Logos, fully custom-made machetes for outdoor use. Joint development with long-established blacksmith Toyokuni

Posted on 2023-12-222023-12-22 by Editor in Chief

Logos Corporation, which develops the outdoor brand “LOGOS,” has begun early sales of a limited quantity of “LOGOS Bushcraft Full Tang Machete,” a fully custom-made outdoor machete developed in collaboration with the long-established blacksmith shop Toyokuni. The price is 19,800 yen.

The “square machete” shape with a non-pointed blade tip has been adopted for safety and ease of use in any field, whether camping or in the mountains. The blade has an indentation (finger choil) on the blade for easy use in detailed work, and can be held in different ways for detailed work such as making feather sticks. In addition, a hilt (stopper) is provided to prevent injury, ensuring safe use.

The 5.5mm-thick blade and 500g weight allow for vigorous batoning.

The steel material is stainless steel 440, which is rust-resistant, easy to sharpen, cost-effective, and well-balanced, with excellent wear resistance and fatigue strength. In addition, the double-edged blade structure, with blades on both sides of the blade, enables straight cutting of firewood regardless of the listener.

The handle is made of G10, a glass-filled, lightweight and durable material that is impact resistant and resistant to humidity changes.

The sheath is made of Kydex, which is lightweight, durable, and washable. The sheath can be unlocked by gripping the handle and pushing it with the thumb, so the machete can be securely held in place while being inserted and removed with one hand.

The belt holder can be oriented in different directions to accommodate various patterns, including left-handedness. A holder for attaching the Fire Striker Set (sold separately) is also included.
