Minna no Bank will launch a new service, Circle, on December 19, and begin working with partners.
Circle is a service that provides new awareness to the digital native generation, the company’s core users. According to Kenichi Nagayoshi, President and CEO, the company aims to create a platform that “connects things of value” by creating a circle of non-banking financial services that the company cannot directly provide due to restrictions under the Banking Act, as well as non-financial services that have a high affinity with the digital native generation.
Specifically, the company will establish a section from within its smartphone application that introduces the services of various service providers in the four categories of “Asset Management and Insurance,” “Lifestyle,” “Travel,” and “Learning. For some services, special offers will be provided, such as a free trial of a paid plan for a few months.
In the travel domain, the company has launched partnerships with “Revolut” (REVOLUT TECHNOLOGIES JAPAN), a smartphone application for saving on foreign currency exchange, “NEWT” (2021 Travel), an overseas travel reservation service, and “HafH” (KabuK Style), which allows users to save coins and use lodging facilities with a fixed fee. (KabuK Style), which allows users to accumulate coins and use them at accommodation facilities at fixed rates.
Revolut offers 3 months free premium plan upon fulfillment of conditions, NEWT offers 5% off overseas tours, and HafH gives up to 100 coins (worth 3,300 yen). In addition, Times Car (Times Mobility), a car sharing service positioned in the lifestyle area, will waive card issuance fees and basic monthly fees for three months.
Mr. Nagayoshi said that the company will initially start with four categories, but hopes to expand into entertainment and health care in the future.
In conjunction with the launch of the new service, a campaign will be offered until January 31, 2024. During this period, customers who open a new account and apply for the premium service will receive a savings deposit interest rate of 1.0% (0.796% after tax) for three months from the date of subscription.
