On December 19, Tenmuto, an Impress Group company, released Sword Fan Books 014, “Guide to Places Related to Famous Swords: A Pilgrimage to Sacred Sword Sites,” A5 size, 144 pages, priced at 2,420 yen.
The book is a guide to museums and shrines that hold famous swords, as well as places, historic sites, monuments, and sword-making sites related to swords and swordsmiths scattered throughout the country.
At the beginning of the tour, visitors will be guided to places related to Gokaden, which is known as a village of swords. The history of local swords, such as Yamashiro-den and Bizen-den, will be explained along with the history of swords in the area.
In the “Places Related to Master Swordsmiths: Edo & Nationwide” section, sword-making sites, gravesites, and historic sites related to master swordsmiths are introduced in Edo (Tokyo) and throughout Japan. The “Places and Areas Related to Famous Swords” section introduces art galleries, museums, etc. throughout Japan that have famous swords in their collections.
