We have been touring Hawaii’s newest area! Chocolate factory, whiskey distillery, and the renovated DFS Waikiki!

How about Hawaiian whiskey distilled with pure water? Ko’olau Distillery The Ko’olau Distillery, which we stopped at on our way back to Honolulu from Kailua, is a small but authentic made-in-Hawaii whiskey distillery at the foot of the Ko’olau Mountains. On Oahu, the trade winds hit the Ko’olau Mountains, bringing a lot of rain, which is slowly filtered by volcanic rocks and gushes to the surface of the earth. Ko’olau Distillery’s signature “Old Pali Road Whiskey” is made with such pure Hawaiian water. Here, you can take a tour of the distillery while listening to the distiller’s story (about 1 hour, $25 per person, web reservation required). You can also try your hand at labeling, and if you want to purchase your own bottled product, you can do so as well. They also make vodka and gin, which can be tasted in the store, so it would make a great Hawaii souvenir for your loved one who loves to drink. Incidentally, “Old Paris Road Whiskey” is also sold at supermarkets such as Foodland -FARMS- throughout Hawaii, and you can also drink it at local restaurants and bars.

There is no way not to take advantage of this in Waikiki! Enjoy the best value for money at Happy Hour! With soaring prices and the weak yen, how can you enjoy your trip to Hawaii with a little extra spending money? The key to a trip to Hawaii nowadays is how to enjoy yourself while keeping your expenses as low as possible. During my stay in Hawaii, I was suggested to try Happy Hour, a time when restaurants and bars offer alcohol at a slightly reduced price in the evening! We visited Eating House 1849, a restaurant in the International Marketplace. Happy Hour at this restaurant is from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm (last order 5:00 pm). During this time, you can order local beer, wine by the glass, craft cocktails, and one dish for only $8 each. The dishes such as crispy Brussels sprouts, Mongolian BBQ baby back ribs, edamame, etc. (laughs) are all delicious and seasoned to Japanese tastes! And even though they are small plates, they are just right for Japanese stomachs, so if you order a few items, you can have them for dinner. You can’t miss out on this happy hour during your stay in Hawaii.
