AEON MALL Ota (81 Ishihara-cho, Ota City, Gunma Prefecture) will reopen on April 19 with additional floor space.
The renovation of the building was based on the concept of “becoming a place of relaxation where people can connect and resonate with each other. A two-story expansion building (West Mall) will be newly constructed in the west side flat parking lot, which was previously used as a parking lot.
Including the expansion building, approximately 50%, or 93 stores, will be renovated, bringing together 185 stores, including fashion, cosmetics, and lifestyle specialty stores that add color to daily life. The existing building will also be renovated with a focus on lifestyle specialty stores that are close to daily life, and will evolve into a new regional hub of interaction that “connects” people and culture across generations.
On the first floor of the expansion building, there will be trendy fashion, interior design, and lifestyle specialty stores that add color to daily life, as well as specialty stores where visitors can play and learn with adorable animals. The new building will also feature KEYUCA, a lifestyle store that proposes “just the right fit” for each individual; CIAOPANIC TYPY, which offers good old-fashioned items and trendy fashion; and Anitouch Park, a fusion of an amusement facility and a zoo.
On the second floor of the expansion building, “FOOD FOREST,” one of the largest in the prefecture, consisting of 15 restaurants with approximately 1,100 seats, will be established. There is also a “Mogumogu Table” with approximately 230 seats for children to eat and drink. A “picnic court” will be set up where visitors can experience nature through all five senses even while inside the food court. Shinshu Soba Ogiso Mills, which serves Shinshu soba noodles with a firm texture, Ramen Kairikiya, a popular ramen store in Kitashirakawa, Kyoto, and Nasu Senbonmatsu Farm, which offers high-quality soft ice cream, will also open stores.
The existing building will also undergo a large-scale renewal with the opening of three new store complexes: “FlyingTiger Copenhagen,” a fan lifestyle goods store from Scandinavian Denmark; “DAISO,” a 100-yen store; “Standatd Products,” which offers environmentally friendly products; and “THREEPPY,” which offers fashionable lifestyle goods for 300 yen.
A new “connecting bridge” will be built in the west side flat parking lot to connect to the expansion building, improving convenience. In addition, waste wood from the existing building will be reused in the construction of the expansion building to reduce environmental impact.
