Nagoya Railroad will conduct a demonstration test of the “Off-Airport Check-in Promotion Project,” in which air passengers’ baggage will be checked in at a facility near Meitetsu Nagoya Station, loaded onto the plane they plan to board, and sent directly to their destination airport.
The “Off-Airport Check-in Promotion Project” was launched by ANA, JAL, Central Japan International Airport, Hokkaido Airport, Airporter, AGP, and the Next Generation Airport Technology Study Group, utilizing the “Co-Creation Model Demonstration Project” by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
The project aims to relieve airport congestion by separating airline passengers from baggage delivery operations, improve convenience in wide-area sightseeing tours and increase tourism consumption through the realization of empty-handed sightseeing.
