Nagoya Railroad Co. will begin operating repainted Series 6000 trains on March 2. The repainted trains will be two one-man trains in one formation.
It is inspired by the green color of the 3400 series trains, known as “caterpillars,” which Meitetsu operated until 2002. The train is scheduled to run on the Nagoya Main Line and Gamagori Line, as well as the Hiromi Line, with the aim of revitalizing tourism along the lines.
On March 2, the service will start with the regular train departing from Mitake Station at 5:40 a.m., and commemorative gifts will be distributed to the first 1,000 passengers who get on and off at the station after the 10:29 a.m. train departs from Mitake Station. On the same day, an event will be held in front of the station to sell railroad goods.
Information on the service will be available on the website until March 31. Commemorative tickets and other goods will be available at the “Ontake Yado San San Plaza” in front of Mitake Station, details of which will be announced in the future.
