JR West will launch the “Kobe-Osaka Railway 150th Anniversary Project” in April to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the railroad between Kobe and Osaka stations on May 11, 1874.
As a first step, events related to the history of this section will be held at Kobe and Osaka stations on May 11, including a commemorative ceremony, and “Railroad and Town History Panel Exhibitions” will be held at Motomachi, Sannomiya, Sumiyoshi, Ashiya, Nishinomiya, and Amagasaki stations in addition to the above two stations. A special exhibition at the Kyoto Railway Museum and a photo contest on SNS “Railil” are also planned, details of which will be announced later.
The company plans to sell commemorative admission tickets and boxed lunches, as well as hold a digital stamp rally, a tour of the Aboshi General Rolling Stock Depot, and a photo contest. Details of these events will be announced as they become available.
