West Japan Railway Company will release “Hokuriku Shinkansen W7 Series” goods on March 1 to commemorate the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen between Kanazawa and Tsuruga on March 16.
The lineup of acrylic stands (1,100 yen each), inspired by the Hokuriku Shinkansen’s connection to Tsuruga, includes three types: “Tsuruga,” “Fukui,” and “Kanazawa. The red seal book (2,200 yen) features designs of the Hokuriku Shinkansen W7 Series train cars and logos, and can be used as a stamp book for collecting station stamps and other stamps.
The amulet (880 yen) is a motif of the Hokuriku Shinkansen Series W7 made of Echizen textile, a specialty of Fukui. The cushion charm (660 yen), featuring an illustration of the Hokuriku Shinkansen Series W7, has a yellow front light and a red rear light to match the actual train. A muffler towel (1,980 yen) with the Hokuriku Shinkansen W7 Series logo and train design will also be available.
In addition, the Hokuriku Shinkansen Station Name Ballpoint Pen (495 yen), Hokuriku Shinkansen Station Name Magnet (440 yen), and Hokuriku Shinkansen Series W7 Double Key Chain (550 yen), which have been on sale for some time, have been renewed to celebrate the opening of Tsuruga. Seven stations (Kanazawa, Komatsu, Kaga Onsen, Ashihara Onsen, Fukui, Echizen Takefu, and Tsuruga) that will be Hokuriku Shinkansen stops have been added to the station names.
Sales locations include JR Service Net Kanazawa station stores, JR West mail order site “DISCOVER WEST mall”, JR West Trading’s mail order site “Train Box”, and Kyoto Railway Museum.
