The Japan Weather Association has released its third forecast of cherry blossoms in full bloom for 2024 for 83 locations throughout Japan, reporting that blooming is expected to begin on March 16 from Uwajima in Ehime Prefecture and Sukumo in Kochi Prefecture.
The blooming is expected to begin in Tokyo on March 19 and extend from Fukuoka to Matsuyama on March 20, and by the end of March, it is expected to be in full bloom over a wide area from Kyushu to the southern Tohoku region.
The forecast for full bloom was also announced, with full bloom expected to begin in Tokyo and Uwajima on March 25, and in a wide area from Kyushu to Hokuriku by the end of March.
The cherry blossom front will reach Hokkaido in late April, and the bloom in Sapporo is expected on April 27.
