JR Tokai will conduct a campaign to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the opening of the entire Takayama Line on October 25. The campaign will run from April 1 to March 31, 2025.
Sawayaka Walking “90th Anniversary Commemorative Course of the Takayama Line
The “Takayama Line 90th Anniversary Commemorative Course” will start and end at stations in all 10 cities and towns along the Takayama Line. The course will feature hospitality provided by people from the communities along the line.
Each course is designed with the Kiha 82, Kiha 85, and HC 85 series, which are the past limited express Hida-go trains. One of these will be installed in each course.
Weeping Cherry Blossoms and Springtime Delicious Food Exploration in Hagiwara-juku (April 13, 8:30 – 11:15 a.m. start registration) Tour the city’s designated natural monument, the weeping cherry blossoms of Iwataro, as well as other famous cherry blossom spots in Hagiwara-cho. In the retro atmosphere of Hagiwara-juku, stores offering local delicacies such as Japanese sweets, miso (bean paste), and sake (Japanese sake) will gather. The start station is Gero Station and the goal station is Hida Hagiwara Station. The stamp design is HC85 series.
Walking through the scenery known as “Gifu’s Grand Canyon” Babbling of the Hida River – Stroll along the lakeside promenade (April 29, 8:00 – 11:00 start registration) Walk along the Kawabe lakeside promenade, located along the Hida River. The “Gifu Regatta” competition is scheduled to be held at the Kawabe Rowing Course, and participants can enjoy the scenery of the race on the day of the event. The start station is Shimoasao Station and the goal station is Nakagawabe Station. The stamp design is Kiha 82 series.
Tour around Kojima Castle in spring, visiting the clear Miya River and the emotional Shirakabe Dozo Street (May 11, 8:00 – 11:30am start registration) Tour the ruins of Kojima Castle, which was the residence of the Kojima clan, located in one of the three families of Anekoji. At Setogawa River and Shirakabe Dozo Street, visitors can view carp returning home after the winter. The start station is Sugisaki Station and the goal station is Hida Furukawa Station. The stamp design is Kiha 85 series.
