Swatch will release a new model “MISSION TO THE MOONPHASE” from the “BIOCERAMIC MOONSWATCH” collection in collaboration with OMEGA on March 26. The price is 46,200 yen.
The design is all white with a full moon motif, and the moon phase disc (a function that indicates the phases of the moon), which moves on a subdial at the 2 o’clock position, depicts Snoopy, NASA’s mascot since the 1960s, as if lying on the moon.
When exposed to ultraviolet light, the famous quote from the Snoopy comic strip, hidden among the crescent moon and stars, appears.
Like the 11 Bioceramic MoonSwatch models depicting the various planets and the 11 Mission to Moonshine Gold models, the new watches also feature chronograph functions. This is the first time in Swatch’s history that moon phases are combined with a chronograph.
Other features such as the asymmetrical case, the “dot-over-90” bezel with tachymeter scale above 90, and the unique Speedmaster subdial incorporate features of the original Speedmaster Moonwatch model, the first watch to reach the surface of the moon.
