Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture, is distributing free of charge the “Tsuruga Omotenashi Passport” (B6 size, 24 pages), which offers discounts and services at 34 stores. The number of copies issued is 5,000.
The distribution locations include the tourist information center at Tsuruga Station, the multi-purpose “Kagu-Lu” space in front of Kibi Jingu Shrine, Tsuruga Red Brick Warehouse, Tsuruga Museum (Port of Humanity), Nihonkai Sakana Machi (Japan Sea Fish Market), and lodging facilities in Tsuruga.
The program includes 20 gourmet restaurants offering ramen, seafood, rice balls, pasta, etc., and 14 hands-on facilities such as handmade Tsuruga’s specialty “oboro kelp”, kimono rental, glass blowing to make glasses and single-flower vases, and fishing in Tsuruga Bay.
