JR Hokkaido and JR East will release “Shinkansen e-Ticket (Tokudate Special 21)” which offers 50% discount for “Hayabusa” and “Hayate” (standard car reserved seat) on Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen. The period of use is from May 9 to 23, and tickets can be purchased from 10:00 a.m. one month prior to the boarding date until 11:50 p.m. 21 days prior to the boarding date.
For the “Hayabusa” between Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto and Tokyo, the regular term Shinkansen e-ticket costs 23,230 yen for an adult one-way trip, but is discounted by 50% to 11,610 yen (the discount amount is 11,620 yen). For the “Hayabusa/Hayate” between Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto and Shin-Aomori, the e-ticket for the regular term is 50% off at 3,750 yen (discount amount: 3,770 yen) instead of 7,520 yen for an adult one-way trip.
During the period covered by the “Shinkansen e-Ticket (Tokudare Special 21),” JR East will also hold a hiking and walking event (May 11) to/from stations with Hakodate morning market and spectacular views of the Tsugaru Straits, and a stamp rally (April 5 – June 2) with limited event prizes for Plarail, celebrating its 65th anniversary.
