Seiko Time Creation will release the FS207G, a high-end table clock featuring Disney’s Mickey Mouse design, in limited quantities and made-to-order on July 6.
Pre-orders will begin on April 3 at the Seiko Clock Online Store and Ginza Wako, limited to 10 units and priced at 11 million yen.
FS207G is a mechanical table clock featuring a unique mechanism that moves the hands. The sound of a steel ball, which imitates a stream of water, flowing along a rail is pleasant, and the steel ball fits into a bucket on the back side of the dial, and its weight is transmitted through the gears to move the hands.
The dial will be designed with openwork based on the Art Deco style that was popular in the United States in the 1920s, when Mickey Mouse was born.
The center of the dial features a “Mickey Hands” design. Mickey Mouse’s hands serve as the hands. The paint is applied with a shimmering paint that glitters when the light hits it, marking the time in an elegant and gorgeous way.
The ornamentation on the dial features silhouettes of Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, and other Disney friends, and the Roman numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock are painted in four different colors to represent each character. Minnie Mouse is positioned so that she is staring at Mickey Mouse.
In addition, the inscription on the pedestal reads, “It all begins with dreams. It all begins with dreams.” At the end of the sentence is a reproduction of Walt’s autograph. The unit measures 390 x 482 x 275 mm (H x W x D) and weighs approximately 15 kg.
