Choice Hotels Japan will reopen the Comfort Hotel Naha Kencho-mae (1-3-11 Kumoji, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture) on May 30.
All 132 guest rooms have been redesigned with new wallpaper and carpets, and a soothing design based on light blue tones reminiscent of the beautiful ocean and sky of Okinawa. Functional improvements include movable sofas, movable tables, USB ports, and thermo faucets, making the rooms more comfortable for two people. For the beds, eco-friendly duvets made of recycled down will be introduced.
In addition, the lounge space previously used for breakfast will be renovated to create the “Comfort Library Cafe,” an open space free of charge for guests. In addition to more than 100 books on travel and the local area, the cafe is equipped with Wi-Fi and power outlets. Various seating arrangements, including boxes and counters, are available for guests to freely use before check-in and after check-out.
The interior design also incorporates typical Okinawan features, such as bookshelf cloth inspired by the traditional craft of Bingata and partitions with “flower block” designs found in architecture.
The hotel will be located about a 3-minute walk from Kencho-mae Station on the Okinawa Urban Monorail (Yui Rail), which is convenient for business and tourist travel.
