Taisei Coin will begin pre-order sales of the Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coin, minted by the French National Mint (Monnaie de Paris) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Sanrio character “Hello Kitty,” at major financial institutions in Japan on April 15.
The seven types of products, including a gold coin in the shape of Kitty sitting sideways looking at the front, inspired by the design when she was born in 1974, a design inspired by France with Kitty in a beret and dress strolling in Paris, and a design incorporating Japanese motifs such as furisode sleeves and Japanese umbrella, are a fusion of artistry and advanced technology.6 The lineup includes six products in seven types that combine artistry and advanced technology.
The “200 Euro Gold Coin” (limited to 600 pieces) is priced at 880,000 yen, the three “50 Euro Gold Coins” (limited to 300 pieces each) at 231,000 yen each, the “Set of 3 Gold Coins” (limited to 400 sets) at 693,000 yen, and the “Set of 3 Silver Coins” (limited to 1500 sets) at 59,400 yen.
All are legal tender with a face value issued by the Mint, and all are high grade with a purity of 99.9% (pure gold/pure silver). Each product will be offered with a special case and certificate of issue.
