In response to a request from the government of Papua New Guinea, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide emergency relief supplies for flood and landslide damage in the western part of the independent country as follows.

Heavy rains that began in mid-March in western Papua New Guinea have caused extensive human and material damage, including landslides, flooding, and disruption of lifelines.
