KDDI will release a limited quantity of the first-generation INFOBAR-shaped Apple Watch Case as part of the “au +1 collection” on May 17. It will be available at KDDI directly-managed stores/au Style/au shops/UQ Spot and au Online Shop nationwide.

The Apple Watch case is a faithful reproduction of the first-generation INFOBAR (NISHIKIGOI), the most popular of the INFOBAR series, which has been developed over a total of seven models in 20 years. In the crowdfunding campaign that preceded the launch, the planned quantity of 1,300 units sold out within 20 hours of the start of accepting applications, and the additional 150 units sold out in about 20 minutes.

It measures 42 x 12 x 138 mm, about the same size as the original INFOBAR (42 x 11 x 138 mm). However, tile keys cannot be pressed and the antenna cannot be extended.

The Apple Watch is compatible with 45mm size (Series 9/8/7) and 44mm size (6/5/4/SE), and can be charged and used with transportation IC cards while worn.

When the user puts on the product and operates it, they can enjoy the sensation of operating the display of the first-generation INFOBAR with a touch panel, and they can also make calls as if they were using a cell phone by using the Apple Watch’s built-in microphone and speaker.

It also comes with a cosmetic box with a modern update of the packaging design of the original INFOBAR, and can be used as an art frame or bag charm even if you do not have an Apple Watch.
