Marriott International will launch “Fairfield Quest – Collecting Your GEMs” on April 27, a stamp rally project to collect stamps by staying at 29 hotels nationwide as part of the “Fairfield by Marriott Roadside Station Project.
Under the concept of “Quest for the Unknown Nippon,” the purpose of the program is to encourage visitors to experience unique locales and discover the hidden charms of the whole country. Visitors who collect stamps in an original stamp booklet will receive souvenirs and accommodation coupons according to the number of stamps they collect.
The stamp handbooks can be purchased at each hotel and come in sets of two (2,200 yen), one for stamps and one plain to write down memories of the trip, using washi paper, which is highly preservable. The stamps for each hotel are designed and originally produced by the hotel staff, incorporating at least three regional characteristics. Each hotel also chooses five traditional Japanese colors for the stamp ink.
