JR West Hotels will open THE OSAKA STATION HOTEL, Autograph Collection (3-2-2 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) on July 31, and will begin accepting reservations on its official website on May 11.
The 38-story building will have 418 rooms, including 8 suites. The hotel will feature a restaurant, five banquet halls, a gym and bath area, and a “Specialty Salon” exclusively for suite guests.
Rooms are divided into 18 types on the “Signature” floors from the 30th to 33rd, “Scenic” floors from the 34th to 37th, and “Specialty” floors on the 38th. The rooms are arranged in a “L” shape along the perimeter of the building, so that guests can enjoy different views from the east, west, north, south, and west. The interior design is inspired by the philosophy of Sen no Rikyu, a tea master born in Sakai, Osaka.
Under the brand concept of “THE OSAKA TIME,” the hotel’s design is said to have been created using crafts and materials inspired by Osaka’s history, culture, and experiences. The hotel also respects the “memory of trains and stations,” and the front desk is designed as an island that resembles an old station ticket gate.
The construction site is the site of the first Osaka Station, which opened on May 11, 1874, and is directly connected to the West Exit of JR Osaka Station and the Nishi-Umeda underground pedestrian street. The reservation start date, May 11, falls on the anniversary of the opening of the first Osaka Station.
