Fantasy Springs, a new theme port opening June 6 at Tokyo DisneySea.
One of the new attractions in “Peter Pan’s Neverland” is “Fairy Tinkerbell’s Busy Buggy”. Visitors can enjoy a ride through the four seasons in “Pixie Hollow” (fairy valley).
The worldview of “Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggy” follows that of the Disney movie “Tinker Bell” (2008). Of course, it was created as a spin-off of the “Peter Pan” movie, but the popularity of the first “Tinker Bell” made it into a series, resulting in six feature-length CG animated films alone.
All six films are still available on the video streaming service Disney+, so if you have not seen them yet, you should definitely watch them before visiting Fantasy Springs. Whether or not you watch them beforehand will make a significant difference in your satisfaction with the attractions.
The movie “Tinker Bell” depicts the fairies’ lives and the four seasons of Pixie Hollow. The fairies are responsible for switching the seasons in the world Wendy and her friends live in, which they call the “mainland,” and they work daily to switch the seasons using their innate talents. Tinker Bell has a “talent for making things” and can make and repair tools used by the fairies.
Four seasons coexist in this Pixie Hollow: spring, summer, fall and winter. Each season has its own fairy in charge and lives in a different area. In this attraction, visitors ride in a “Busy Buggy,” a delivery vehicle built by Tinker Bell, and help her deliver goods to the areas for each of the four seasons.
The entrance to the attraction, made of a large rock, also has much to offer. The attraction’s name is made not only of plant vines and voices, but also of buttons, spools of thread, bells, forks, and various other drifted objects from the mainland. On the left side is a fairy house made of pots, which sometimes emerge from their homes and fly around the names of the attractions, making them sparkle and shine.
When you walk through the entrance, you will be greeted by giant flowers and mushrooms in the “Fairy Lair. Visitors can become the same size as the little fairies and experience being lost in Pixie Hollow, where the fairies live. Along the way, there are blueprints of how to build a delivery vehicle drawn by Tinker Bell and “stray items” that have drifted ashore from the mainland. The items from the movie appear one after another in giant sizes for your enjoyment.
The fairies have no idea what the stray items were originally used for, so they are often used for purposes other than what they were originally intended for. The area where people board delivery vehicles has been turned into a “delivery center” for loading goods, apparently built with crayon boxes as roofs and crayons as poles. The walls are made of what appear to have been cheese boxes, and the poles holding the ropes for the waiting lines are sewing needles and safety pins. It is interesting to imagine what the original was, since every inch of the building is made of stray objects. A map of the entire attraction spreads out in the back of the room, allowing visitors to “study” the four seasons they will visit. The map is filled with cute illustrations, so be sure to take a look at it and enjoy.
The delivery vehicle is a busy baby carriage that seats four persons in two rows of two. Each row has a button-shaped handle. When the delivery vehicle starts moving, Tinker Bell appears. She was asked to make a delivery in place of “Cheese,” the mouse who always makes deliveries, and went to Pixie Hollow.
It was a relief to see the rampant “running thistle” fenced in or roped off. First up is the “Summer Wetlands,” complete with giant sunflowers and honeybees. Next is the “Autumn Forest,” with its giant pumpkins and acorn storehouse, creating a great atmosphere.
Beyond that, the “winter forest” spreads out, and a busy baby carriage glides on the frozen ground. The glowing light in the cave is probably the “Never Beast” from the movie “Tinker Bell and the Legend of the Shooting Star”. The last is the “Valley of Spring,” with butterflies in the process of being colored and ladybugs in the process of being patterned.
Last but not least is Cheese the mouse. He seems to be enjoying being surrounded by his favorite cheese, a gift from Tinker Bell. It was satisfying to find out that today was Cheese’s vacation to spend his birthday!
Fairy Tinkerbell’s Busy Buggy” is an attraction that offers both the fun of experiencing being lost in Pixie Hollow in the waiting line and the excitement of experiencing Pixie Hollow’s four seasons once you board the Busy Buggy. Although the Busy Buggy moves fast, it is not intoxicating, and anyone can enjoy the world from start to finish. Enjoy the fairy world to the fullest.
