Background and Objectives
Mongolia Open Innovation and Co-creation for SDGs (MICS), an open innovation and co-creation initiative that has been implemented in Mongolia since FY2023, will soon start its FY2024 program (MICS2024). Mr. Tanaka, Director of JICA Mongolia Office, gave a presentation on the outline and achievements of MICS2023 and collaborative projects in the previous fiscal year, as well as the outline and schedule of MICS2024. He also introduced JICA’s projects and activities in Mongolia, including “MONJA,” an acceleration program for Mongolian start-ups, and “DXCUP,” an IT business plan contest for technical college and university students. In addition, JICA’s SME/SDGs Business Support Program and Grassroots Technical Cooperation Program were introduced, including information on projects currently being implemented in Mongolia and information on open recruitment for this fiscal year.
In the latter half of the session, Mr. Isao Nakamura, an expert from the Mongolia-Japan Human Resources Development Center, joined the panel and introduced Mongolia’s business environment and the Center’s efforts to support business exchange and acceptance of foreign human resources between Japan and Mongolia.
