Matsuzakaya Ueno Store will hold the “Upcycle Eco Bag Project Vol. 6” from May 29 to June 27, 2012, in which used outdoor advertising banners will be converted into eco bags for sale.
The holiday-specific mosaic art advertising banners of the Ueno panda family used in the “HAPPY PANDAFUL HOLIDAYS” held in December 2023 will be upcycled, remade into eco-bags and sold online in a limited edition of 201.
It is priced at ¥3,000 and measures approximately 21.5 x 9.5 x 23.5 cm (W x D x H).
The advertising banner used mosaic art featuring photos of the Ueno panda family (Li Li, Xin Xin, Shan Shan, Xiao Xiao, and Lei Lei) taken by Mr. Gao, who runs the blog “Pandas Everyday.
Applications are accepted through a special page, and if the number of applications exceeds 201, a drawing will be held. Winning results will be announced on July 12.
The 201 pieces also include 21 items from cancellations that occurred during the two previous upcycling projects of panda motifs.
