QR ticket “Slutto QRtto” for private railways in Kansai will start on June 17. Pass through automatic ticket gates by holding up the code.

The Slutto KANSAI Council has announced that the “Slutto QRtto” QR code ticket service will begin on June 17. Osaka City Bus, Kinki Nippon Railway Co.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from the website (sales will begin at 4:00 a.m. on June 17) and used by presenting a smartphone with the QR code displayed on it. At railroad companies, passengers can enter and exit the station by holding the code over the reader on the automatic ticket gate. At buses and tourist facilities, users can either present the screen with the ticket or read the code posted by the operator and show the screen to the user.

To coincide with the start of the service, the “Surutto KANSAI Osaka Round Trip Pass,” which includes a free train ticket and a ticket to tourist facilities, will go on sale at the Surutto QRtto. The one-day and two-day versions are available for 3,300 yen and 5,500 yen, respectively (both for adults only). The magnetic card version of the “Osaka Round Trip Pass” will be discontinued on June 16.

Details on how to use the system will be announced after June 17.
