JR East has formulated and announced its mid- to long-term business growth strategy, “Beyond the Border. It replaces the lifestyle service business vision “NEXT10” and focuses on expanding the use of Suica in situations other than travel.
The integration of IDs for “Ekinet” and “JRE MALL,” which has already been reported in some quarters, will be implemented by 2027, and a “new railroad ticketing system” will be introduced by promoting cloud computing. Furthermore, in 2028, the company plans to release a “Suica application (tentative name),” aiming to link not only ticketing and payment, but also learning, logistics, and administrative and regional services.
In addition, the company has set a goal of doubling operating revenue and operating income from lifestyle solutions in FY2033 compared to FY2023 by expanding business areas through data marketing.
