On June 21, Peach Aviation unveiled a specially painted “Unari-kun Jet” at Narita Airport to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Narita’s establishment as a city.

Narita City, which celebrated its 70th anniversary this March, is home to Narita Airport, one of Peach’s base airports, and has been involved in regional revitalization through participation in events organized by the city. Peach will operate a specially painted aircraft featuring Narita City’s tourist character “Unarikun” as part of its efforts to further develop Narita City.

The Unarikun Jet is a 180-seat Airbus A320 ceo (registration code: JA824P) with decals applied to the rear and sides of the aircraft. The decals measure 5.7 x 2.9 meters, and are designed to blend in with Peach’s iconic “fuchsia pink” color and the blue of the Unarikun, as well as to depict the 70th anniversary of Narita City. The letters “Una. are slightly purplish in color to blend in with Peach’s symbolic “fuchsia pink” color and the blue of Unarigun. The design was jointly decided upon with Narita City after planning for the special aircraft operation began in October of last year.

Peach plans to operate flights on all routes in Japan and Asia (24 domestic routes and 12 international routes) until around December of this year. The only route that will be excluded from Peach’s service is the Kansai-Bangkok route, which is served by the Airbus A321LR medium-haul aircraft.

On this day, MM503 from Narita to Naha, Okinawa, was the memorable first flight of Unarikun Jet. There were 169 passengers (including 2 infants) and 6 crew members. The flight was seen off by Peach employees and airport staff gathered at Spot 411 on the Narita Airport Terminal 1 tarmac, blocking out at 08:12 and taking off at 08:28. The flight took off for Naha Airport in Okinawa, where the rainy season was about to end.
