Navitime Japan has launched “Shaded Parking Lot Map,” which allows users to find shaded parking lots with the car navigation application “NAVITIME Drive Supporter.
The function is free to use, and by switching to “Shaded Parking” from the map menu of the app, you can see if the building is shaded or not, by time of day, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Not only outdoor flat parking lots, but also multi-story and underground parking lots are displayed, allowing users to find a parking space taking sunlight into consideration.
The shade information on the map is based on the height of buildings and the altitude of the sun at different times of the day, and the shaded areas are calculated independently.
