Just like the story of how everyone’s smiles came together in the afternoon, you can be sure that your stay at the resort in the afternoon will be filled with smiles if you enjoy the food at lunch time! You can enjoy a variety of specialties that are sure to bring a smile to your face. The “Duffy & Friends Wear Smiles Grow” Cantonese Lunch consists of six courses.
Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta is offering a special course “Duffy & Friends Wear Smiles Grow” Cantonese Lunch (7,000 yen) in conjunction with the Duffy & Friends event at the Silk Road Garden. The special course, “Duffy & Friends Wear Smiles Grow” Cantonese Lunch (7,000 yen), is served at lunchtime at Silk Road Garden.
Tokyo Disney Resort is currently holding a summer-only program. At the same time, “Wear Smiles Grow,” starring Duffy & Friends, is underway on Cape Cod at Tokyo DisneySea.
Duffy & Friends Wear Smiles Grow” Cantonese Lunch
Appetizers
Chinese Steamed Buns
Deep-fried sea bass and vegetables in spicy sauce
Stir-fried squid and whelk
Braised Pork and Fried Tofu in Soy Sauce
Peach mousse and cinnamon-scented peach compote with lychee sorbet
The five appetizers included daikon rice cakes, marinated sweet shrimp and zucchini, cheese-scented Duffy-designed crackers, sweet and vinegared tomatoes, and a dish of Awao chicken with octagon and other spices. The menu was full of summery ingredients, giving the dishes a summery flavor right from the start.
If two or more people order the same course, they will be served with decorations that resemble gorgeous flowers.
The “Deep-fried Sea Bass with Vegetables in Spicy Sauce” has the perfect spicy flavor for summer. The crispy fried sea bass with spicy sauce is perfect for summer, and the fluffy texture of the deep-fried sea bass also whets the appetite. The accompanying Inca mezame served as a nice chopstick rest.
The “Stir-fried squid and whelk” is a dish with a gentle salty taste. It is recommended to taste this dish first. The crispy seafood and the flavorful sauce are well mixed together.
The next dish, “Stewed Pork and Fried Tofu in Soy Sauce,” is much larger than it looks. The large pork cubes with a thick sauce will fill your mouth with happiness.
You can also order more “Chinese steamed bread,” or hana-maki, which has a sweet and fluffy flavor that goes well with any dish. The branding of Duffy on the rice cooker is a small detail that makes you feel the attention to detail. The condiments made from dried shrimp, soy sauce, garlic, and other spices can be added to the rolls for a different flavor, which is also very tasty.
Peach mousse and cinnamon-scented peach compote with lychee sorbet” is a refreshing dessert plate. The lychee sorbet is fragrant and melts in the mouth, leaving you with a refreshing finish.
The peach mousse is designed to resemble a floating ring. The peach compote served on top has a gentle taste. The decoration of Duffy & Friends is also superb. Duffy has a butterfly, Gelatoni has a palette, and Lena Belle has a magnifying glass.
What is also nice is that special luncheon mats are provided regardless of the number of people. Although you will have to be careful not to make a mess while eating, it will be fun to take a picture with each dish on it. Be sure to enjoy your meal and take photos to commemorate the occasion.
There are also drinks to be enjoyed with the course. The “Duffy & Friends Wear Smiles Grow” Special Drink (1,500 yen) is a dessert drink made with mango ice cream and peach nectar. The colors of this drink are also inspired by the “Wear Smiles Grow” theme. While sweet, it was more refreshing than I had imagined, and I felt it was the perfect drink to take a break after a day of summer fun at the park.
Don’t forget to make reservations in advance if you want to taste the course. Reservations can be made smoothly via the Tokyo Disney Resort App, so be sure to take advantage of this service.
